One more Solar Off-Grid system designed and built by Kominos Cutting Edge Solutions & Kominos I. Petros Technical Office is operational since the 24th of December 2015.
It covers all the electrical-energy needs of a family house through the year.
It consists of a 2kWp Solar Array of 8 PVs, 250Wp each, all mounted on an aluminium base, 12 meintenance-free 2V Gel Batteries 950Ah, two 40A MPPT solar charge controllers and a 5000VA, 24V pure-sine wave Inverter-Charger (140A). An auto-start diesel generator is also connected to the system for backup power and to protect the batteries during extreme weather conditions.

The automatic start of the gen-set is controlled by the programmable auxiliary contacts of the DC/AC inverter. A smaller preexisting system was also paralleled to the new system as an extra backup in case of an unexpected power cut to cover critical loads.

Emphasis was given to the monitoring of energy production and usage with user-friendly monitoring devices. This is crucial since it gives full control and helps to minimise energy consumption.
